Baloise organizes an online event “Burnout prevention” for entrepreneurs
12.09.2022 / 10:01 CET/EST
Basel, September 12, 2022. Entrepreneurs are particularly at risk of exhaustion and stress due to high workloads. This can lead to burnout. In its free online event, Baloise will present information on mental health and provide entrepreneurs with simple tools to prevent burnout and help them succeed in their new business in the long term.
In order to make entrepreneurs aware of the dangers of burnout, Baloise has joined forces with the Center for Health, Ergonomics and Hygiene at Work (AEH) to organize a free webinar on the subject. The event will be held in German on September 15, 2022 and in French on September 16, 2022. Two experts will, among other things, provide an overview of the first signs of chronic stress and will propose strategies for successfully managing it. “Stress isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because it can inspire us to achieve great things. But it can be dangerous when people find it impossible to relieve stress. At this point, stress ceases to be a challenge and simply becomes a burden that can no longer be handled by one’s own resources, often leading to feelings of hopelessness. This is why positive stress management is so important,” says Lisa Fässler, psychologist and expert in corporate health management at AEH.
Entrepreneurs can also book an hour-long one-on-one session with an expert to ask questions about burnout. During the online event, Baloise offers a total of twelve free individual coaching slots per day.
Burnout is one of the top 20 reasons start-ups fail in Switzerland
People who realize their dream of starting their own business are especially prone to burnout. After all, creating a start-up involves a myriad of responsibilities, and entrepreneurs tend to identify very closely with their business.
After the launch of an information portal for entrepreneurs and the Basel expert dialogue initiative in April this year, we are adding the online event “Burnout prevention” to our offer for SMEs. Given the amount of energy it takes to start a business, it’s important not to view health as an afterthought. Neglecting one’s health is a recipe for failure. “Through its webinar, Baloise wants to raise awareness of this important aspect among people in Switzerland who are starting or have recently started their own business,” says Patric Olivier Zbinden, Head of Corporate Clients and member of the Baloise Executive Committee in Swiss.
