INEC will not extend ongoing voter registration beyond the stipulated deadline of July 31, Chief Ken Okeagu, its national commissioner in charge of Ebonyi, Enugu and Istanbul states, said on Wednesday. Imo in Abakaliki.

Okeagu, who was on a one-day working visit to Ebonyi, said he was satisfied with the turnout of potential voters at the registration centers visited.

He said INEC would however consider deploying additional voter registration machines to contain the influx of potential voters.

He expressed optimism that INEC would register all eligible voters before the July 31 deadline expires.

“We will deploy additional check-in machines to increase check-in at Ebonyi,” Okeagu said.
