Frontier Digital Ventures Ltd (ASX: FDV) outlined its online marketplace business strategy encompassing rapidly growing emerging global markets during this week’s proactive online markets webinar.
CEO and Founder Shaun Di Gregorio said FDV has invested, owned and operated online classifieds businesses in emerging markets that are experiencing rapid growth.
“Additionally, the terminology is now online marketplaces rather than classifieds, as the classifieds model has evolved rapidly over the past few years. “
He said that FDV operates online marketplaces in three regions: “LATAM is a big market for us and we have a presence in a number of countries, from Central America to the top of South America; in Asia, where we operate in a number of developing Asian markets; and across the MENA region [Middle East and North Africa] markets where we operate a number of businesses.
He said these companies can be compared to the realestate.com and car sales.com portals in Australia within their own markets.
Founded in May 2014 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, FDV saw its annualized revenue in the third quarter of 2021 stand at around A $ 70 million and the company is rapidly approaching an inflection point of profitability.
FDV’s market capitalization is approximately AU $ 538.5 million. It was included in the S & P / ASX All Technology Index last year and is in the process of being included in the S & P / ASX 300 Index.

Di Gregorio told investors, “All of our businesses are basically online classifieds businesses and are all number one in their market.
“We mainly focus on real estate and auto portals and have a few general classifieds portals. “
