Musician and business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has teamed up with talent agency WME to launch “The Excellence Program” for people aspiring to leadership positions in the entertainment industry.
As Variety reports, the program of excellence was announced to coincide with Diddy’s signing with WME. The program, which promises to last six weeks, will be free to eligible students from under-represented communities. The idea is that it will help these students to break into the entertainment industry, whether it is in music, movies and television, marketing or fashion. Sessions of the program will cover topics such as touring, performance and personal development. Industry guests on the program include Marshawn Lynch, French Montana, Bill Duffy, Terrence Jenkins, Reggie Love, Lindsey Vonn, Guss Wenner and Joey Badass, among others.
There will also be classes as part of the program that will be led by executives from companies such as Amazon Studios, MSG Entertainment, Revolt Media, WME, and IMG Models, among others. Combs Enterprises and Endeavor have also committed to considering course students for internships and entry-level positions. Combs will kick off the program with its âIgniting the Excellence in Youâ session.
âStarting my career as an intern has changed my life, so it’s a lifelong dream to give the next generation of entrepreneurs and executives access to the best in entertainment, marketing, music and fashion, âDiddy said in a statement. âPartnering with Endeavor creates a pipeline of opportunities that enables future leaders not only to succeed, but also to thrive in these highly competitive industries. The start of the program is currently scheduled for July 12.
