Rio Ferdinand has revealed he is impressed with Tottenham Hotspur’s multi-million pound training facility after visiting the pitches last week.
The former Manchester United center-back spent time at the Enfield facility chatting with midfielder Dele Alli for a interview with BT Sport.
After his brief visit, the ex-England international said the Hotspur Way grounds were “unreal” and “ridiculous”.
He said the Rio Ferdinand presents FIVE: “I went to their training ground the other day. I did an interview with Dele Alli for BT.
“I interviewed him at the hotel on the site. It was like being at Soho Farmhouse. Unreal. It was ridiculous. The training ground is amazing in itself.
The central north london has 15 grass pitches, four of which are dedicated to the Spurs’ first team, and a half-lit artificial pitch.
Spurs say the facility was “designed with environmental protection and sustainability in mind” and has therefore placed respect for the environment at the heart of the project.
The club has planted over 150 trees, thousands of plants and flowers, and created a wetland section to encourage and enhance the region’s ecological habitat.
Spurs web opinion
Spurs’ training center is one of the best in the country and the world, and the club are certainly proud of it. It offers a world-class facility for players to practice, but also doesn’t lose sight of being environmentally friendly.
