ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – A unique partnership has been created for students in the Department of Mass Media Arts, a division of communication arts at Clark University in Atlanta wishing to cover the automotive industry. Dubbed The Driving Force (TDF), the founding members of the Black Automotive Media Group (BAMG) recruited 15 academics to participate in the 10-week credited virtual field internship, which includes mentoring sessions, writing classes, a video and media production. Participants will present their new professional skills on various platforms at the end of the course. They will also liaise with GM’s communications managers, designers and product planners through a series of presentations and interviews.

TDF evolved as a result of discussions between automakers and BAMG regarding increased programming for deserving but often overlooked schools. TDF’s mission parallels that of the Department of Media Arts, which provides students with rigorous academic and professional training complemented by a solid liberal arts training. The department’s program prepares students for careers in mass media as well as entertainment, politics, personnel management, advertising, education, business, public relations, public service, the arts of speech, social media management, content curation, digital filmmaking and public service.
