SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After tastings, intense deliberation and a review of everything from books, donuts and bottled water, to syrups, sausages and seasonings, HE-B’s Quest for the Best of Texas named FOUR winners at the eighth annual competition. The winners of the 2021 event are from Dallas, Austin and Santa Elena and received a total of $ 70,000 in cash prizes and coveted shelf space at HEB stores statewide.

Now in its eighth year, HEB Quest for Texas Better expanded their search for the best food and drink in the Lone Star State to include non-food items as well. In addition to food creators and innovators, the company has invited Texas-based suppliers of beauty items, toys, household items, necessities, gardening supplies, coolers and everything. the rest.

The 2021 Quest for Texas Best contest attracted more than 1,200 product entries from cities and towns across the state. In two qualifying rounds, bids were judged on taste and flavor, customer appeal, value, uniqueness, market potential and differentiation from current products in most markets. HEB stores.

Since the competition launched in 2014, HEB has reviewed over 4,500 samples of Texas’ most creative and mouth-watering food and drink samples, judged over 750 unique products worthy of shelf-life, and awarded nearly a million dollars in cash prizes, marketing, supplement coaching and mentoring.
